Klavon’s chooses Mason for its third location.

Klavon’s set the opening date for its third location, at 318 W. Kipp Road in Mason.

The pizzeria serves stuffed and hand-tossed pizza, calzones, sandwiches and burgers.

Klavon’s has already hired workers for the 200 jobs the restaurant expects to generate in the city.

Joe Millikin, Klavon’s host at the Rives Junction location, said the grand opening would be March 25.

Rives Junction along with Vandercook are the two other Klavon’s locations in Jackson, Michigan.

The opening has been long awaited by Mason residents. The owners were originally hoping to open in January.

The menu includes stuffed and hand-tossed pizza, calzones, sandwiches and burgers.

Shawn Sodman, owner of the Daily Scoop, said the buzz started about a year ago.

“Everyone seems to rave that they’re expecting it to be really good,” he said.

Sodman said he didn’t share the intense excitement, but would try it anyway.

Elaine George, retail worker at Kean’s who will be a host at Klavon’s, added to the hype.

“I’m actually really excited for it to open. I think it’s going to bring a lot more people into town,” she said.
