Making a difference in the community is Geronimo Lerma III’s main priority; helping those without shoes to feel brand new again.

In 2014, Lerma created a nonprofit organization to help collect shoes for those who don’t have any.  Thousands of shoes line the shelves of the warehouse, all of which have been donated by many people throughout the community.

“It means a lot because especially now that the people are, the poverty levels are so high, that people need these things. Especially with their feet. They need to take care of them on their way so they can continue with their journey,” Lerma said.

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Department is participating, along with many other local organizations.
