Millions of visitors come to Chinese city of Jiuzhaigou for vacation

JIUZHAIGOU, China — Jiuzhaigou is the only place in China with the two Laurel of “World Natural Heritage” and “World Biosphere Reserve” at the same time, it is known as “fairyland” and “fairy tale world.”

With summer vacation quickly approaching, various groups of people choose Jiuzhaigou as their place of interest. In 2016, there were over 5 million visitors in total, and the tourism income reached ¥805 million, which is around $115 million.

“There are visitors all the time, and throughout the entire year,” said Ting Fan, one of the tour guides of Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area. “Jiuzhaigou’s colors change throughout the course of the year. In the long valley, there is also a written love story, their visitors can feel the magnificent, quiet, and an uncommon cozy, that they can only feel while they are there.”

There are 114 lakes in and around the scenic area, 17 waterfalls, 47 caves and springs in the scenic area. It’s 1,870 meters above sea level with 12 peaks. The vegetation coverage is at 85.5 percent, and the forest coverage is at 63.5 percent. All these characteristics contribute to making Jiuzhaigou one of the most popular places to visit in China.

The crowds in Jiuzhaigou have brought residents business and many opportunities. On the way to visiting the view, there are numerous locals there to sell various souvenirs and fast food.

The small businesses brought a lot convenience, and an unforgettable experience to the visitors, and also has a great benefit of residents.

On some days, Xu Wang, a resident who is in the business of cold noodles with sesame sauce in the scenic spot, could have more than 5,000 sales of his product.

“We started this business in 2015,” said Zhenghe Wang, the local businessman. “Visitors always buy our food because they would feel tired and exhausted after they have climbed, and reached us here. There is a demand, and a real market, it’s hard to ignore it.”

With the massive number of visitors, it takes a lot of efforts from the administration to run the management. There are thousand of tour buses that have to keep running on the busy days, taking visitors to many different scenic spots.

“Our bus system is pretty mature now,” said Fan. “We can keep the visitors safe and comfy, while still seeing and enjoying all that we have to offer here, with our tour system. The system also helps to maintain the cleanness of Jiuzhaigou. You can barely see pollution or even trash at our places.”

Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area is well protected and has brought many tourists joy. Visitors from all over the world fly hours to see and feel the majestic view.

“The trip to Jiuzhaigou made me appreciate the beauty the earth has to offer,” said Fukuan Li, a Guangzhou resident, who came to Jiuzhaigou with his family for a short summer trip. “It helps me understand the customs of the Tibetan people, let my mind be sublimated, and help our family bond in a way we never thought was possible.”

There are also special shows near the scenic places, which also attracts visitors from all over the world to sense the folk customs and cultures of Tibetan group and Sichuan province. “The beautiful and mysterious Tibetan-Qiang song and dance would take you through a journey through time and space.” said Fan, “The brilliant Tang Dynasty Palace also shows the great history of China.”
