Fox News declares Sanders Democratic winner in Michigan

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ biggest win to date emerged in just the past week as he overcame a double-digit deficit projected by pollsters. Sanders and nominee Hillary Clinton had their most recent debate in Flint on March 6. Fox gave Sanders a 50-48 percent edge over Clinton with 96 percent of Michigan precincts counted.

On the Republican side, it wasn’t close, except for second place Donald Trump continued his winning campaign, leading Michigan by a wide margin. Trump had 36.8 percent; Texas’ Ted Cruz had 24.7 percent, Ohio’s John Kasich had 24.3 percent and Florida’s Marco Rubio had 9.3 percent. Kasich and Rubio’s home states are to have primaries on March 15.
