The second location of Doggy Daycare and Spa will be opening up in Meridian Township on the corner of Grand River Avenue and Cornell Road. The center will offer daycare without cages, overnight boarding, grooming services at the spa and training classes.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Meridian Township location took place on Oct. 21 with plans to move forward on construction in the beginning of November. The center plans to officially open up this spring, offering all of the same services given at the Lansing location.

“Our Lansing center was starting to become too crowded,” said Daycare Owner Janice Milligan. “Many of our current customers travel to our Lansing location from Meridian Township, so we already know there is a high demand for dog care there.” Milligan said.

However, this is not the center’s first time in Meridian Township. The very first location opened up on James Phillips Drive in 2000 before moving to a larger location in Lansing shortly after.

“I have been going to the Lansing location for years,” said Okemos resident Margaret Kapusinski. “They truly care about the quality of the care given at the center.” Kapusinski said.

Owners who wish to enroll their dogs into the center must be at least 5 months old to participate in the daycare or boarding services, as well as being neutered or sprayed. Dogs must also be completely up-to-date on vaccinations.
