The City of Mason is looking to expand and improve city infrastructure. A major goal at the moment is to ensure that construction of the recreation plan that began last year is completed on target by 2017. The city works to involve the public residents as much as possible in terms of what they would like to see implemented as far as recreation goes.

After surveys to the residents are sent out, the city then gages this information and tries to develop, from that feedback, what facilities they want to pursue as well as prioritize based on community interest. As part of the five-year plan, the city is actively pursuing eight action items. Among these items cover amenities from upgrading softball and baseball fields, to expanding the river walk trail system.

If you want to take a look at the five-year plan, you can refer to the PDF on the Mason Times website: http://www.mason.mi.us/2013/032513Recreation%20Plan%202013-17.pdf
